Ryan Marshall - Vice President of Architecture & Development
Ryan Marshall comes to Social Motion with a wealth of software design
and development experience. Ryan began his career at Microsoft in 1994 and quickly
distinguished himself as a lead tools developer. In 1996 as a Program Manager for the all
of Microsoft's Resource Kits, he quickly formed a team and adopted a new business model
that changed the Resource Kits from a $2 million dollar afterthought into a
$26 million dollar business, proving that technical tools and information could be a
profitable business and not just a catch-all for the operating systems group.
Ryan also worked closely with large enterprise development groups outside Microsoft,
including Oracle, Sybase, and JD Edwards, improving the overall compatibility of the
top 100 enterprise and server applications from less than a 10 pass rate to over 99%
in the 11 months prior to Windows 2000 Server shipping.
After successfully shipping Windows Server 2003, Ryan spent the following years
building and running his own thriving online business Alternative Sports.
