Inclusive Social Networking

The Experience

It’s human nature – people tend to socialize around common interests.

Mass social networks like MySpace and Facebook are great for casual socializing, but they’re not good at bringing disparate people together who share a common passion.

So like-minded people are coming together in niche communities. But, hundreds of small, isolated communities often exist within the same area of interest. These communities, walled of from one another, don’t deliver on the promise of social networking either. Their exclusivity limits their vitality.

Social Motion is pioneering Inclusive Social Networking to achieve the best of both worlds. Our social networking platform enables organizations to nurture their own branded communities and make them richer and more vibrant through affiliation with a network of like-minded communities. For example:

Erin is a member of the Seattle Garden Society. She uses its Social Motion-powered community to plan monthly meetings and show off videos of her garden tour to the UK to fellow members.

Now, let’s say Erin has a question about orchids. There are only a dozen orchid experts in the Seattle Garden Society, but with Inclusive Social Networking, Erin can also connect with the 27 orchid devotees in the Portland Garden Society and the 12,000 orchidophiles in the National Orchid Society – her new friend Emma who is a member of the British Horticultural Society – all from the Seattle Garden Society ‘s online community.

This inclusive framework maximizes the social networking potential of members while preserving the identity and character of each organization. The result is a more engaged, vibrant, and loyal community – connected to a larger shared passion.
